Caius Telephone Campaign - Meet the Team

This year, the Telephone Campaign will run from 18 - 29 September 2024.

You can meet the student calling team below. We hope their call is as enjoyable for you as it is for them and that you will appreciate the chance to share memories of Caius, find out about the latest College news and potentially choose to support future generations of Caians.

Maddie (HSPS 2023)

Hi! My name is Maddie and I am a first year HSPS student at Caius. I am originally from St Albans in Hertfordshire. I have really enjoyed settling into Caius over the last few terms and have thrown myself into College life! I am currently the Caius JCR Class Act officer, representing any state school/working class students in College, and I am also an active member of the Caius Feminism and Gender Society. I am really looking forward to participating in the telephone campaign, as I am excited for the chance to share the wonderful goings-on in College with alumni, and to help to support the College that has contributed so much to my life!

Finley (History and Politics 2022)

Hi, I'm Finley. I am a History and Politcs student at Caius, entering my final year after this summer. I have met some of my best friends at Caius and I have loved living and learning in Cambridge. I am excited to be a part of the telephone campaign as it will allow me to meet a range people who also spent time at Ciaus. As well as this, I know the impact that alumni donations can make to students - from helping us to afford books to helping us travel. I look forward to speaking with you!

Daisy (Philosophy 2022)

Hi, I'm Daisy and I am a 2nd year Philosophy undergraduate at Caius! One of my favourite things about Caius is how it feels like a home away from home. From the College bar to the Harvey Court gardens, there are endless spaces to unwind and make new friends. It is this welcoming environment that has helped to foster my personal growth and development. I am thrilled to be a part of the 2024 telephone campaign. I am particularly keen to hear about the experiences of past Caians and how they navigated their university life, as well as to share fun stories of my own. Also, I wish to give something back to Caius, as these donations are vital to facilitate student support, research and teaching. As a CAMbassador, Admissions and Outreach student helper, and HSBC student ambassador, helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds access the same opportunities as their peers has become a passion of mine. Through the telephone campaign, I hope to share this enthusiasm with alumni - emphasising the crucial role their donations play in widening participation and fostering diversity in our College community.

Valentine (English 2023)

I am a first year studying English. I am originally French but have lived in London for most of my life. Being at Cambridge (and in particular at Caius) is a huge privilege, and Caius undoubtedly has the most beautiful Old Courts: walking through Tree Court in full bloom has been a real treat! The college's boat club has also been a wonderful place to meet new people, as well as giving me the opportunity to try out a new sport. I am excited to join the telephone campaign because I feel it promotes a strong sense of legacy, across many generations of Caians!

Esther (MML 2023)

Hello, I am Esther and I study German and Italian (ab initio) at Caius. So far, I have enjoyed the enriching environment Caius fosters for all of its students, particularly through being part of the GCSU (新彩开奖 and Caius Student Union) and the Caius Boat Club. I am really looking forward to the telephone campaign in September for many reasons. First of all, it will be a time to meet the people who have given this College its well-earnt legacy over the years, as well as to share stories and fond memories from their time here. I am also looking forward to working as a team with current students and alumni, to give fellow Caians once in a lifetime opportunities, funded by the generosity of our alumni. I look forward to speaking with many of you soon.

Denzel (Education 2022)

My name is Denzel, and I am a second year studying Education, Policy and International Development from North London. My favourite thing about Caius is the close-knit sports community we have. As the current Caius first XI football team captain and a winger for the Rugby team too, I鈥檝e played enough games to say that no college can match our mighty blues on a cold, rainy day at Barton Road!  Outside of education, I鈥檝e got a passion for property investment and development, completing internships at Savills and in real estate private equity. Now, why am I calling? Well, I want to ensure that the magic of Caius lives on for future students. Last year, thanks to the College's support, I had the opportunity to fund my trip to the United Nations, World Trade Organisation and various IGOs in Switzerland. This was a rare opportunity for me to gain a deeper insight into global politics and international governance, that would have not been possible without the help of the college. I am also interested to hear about your own university experiences. Caius wouldn鈥檛 be what it is today without our long line of alumni. That being said, let me in on any good stories you have!

Tia (HSPS 2022)

Hi, I鈥檓 Tia and I鈥檓 going into my third year studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences at Caius. I am a returning caller, and my time on the campaign last year was incredibly rewarding and enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to the alumni about their experiences when studying at Caius however long ago, and gaining insight into various aspects of different degrees and the sometimes-unconventional pathways it took them down. I am incredibly involved with access and outreach work both at  College and university levels and it is a great passion of mine to help make Cambridge as accessible to as many people as possible by helping prospective students with their applications - as student support and outreach from Caius in particular is a large reason as to why I am able to be here today. I have loved my time here so far, and therefore revel in sharing experiences and hearing anecdotes and fond memories of the alumni who have lived this before and more, and can鈥檛 wait to help raise money for a great cause for the second year in a row!

Simran (Land Economy 2023)

My name is Simran and I鈥檓 a first year Land Economist. I鈥檓 from London, but am very glad I鈥檓 here at Cambridge rather than a London university. When I鈥檓 not working, I play for a university hockey team and take a french class at the language centre. I also take part in college netball and play tennis when I can! I鈥檓 a big fan of a Friday formal and enjoy spending time in Caius bar afterwards. I鈥檓 so glad that people are so sociable here and love the community that we鈥檝e created.

Daisy (Classics 2021)

Hi there! My name is Daisy and I am an incoming fourth-year classicist at Caius. I'm originally from around the Sussex / Brighton area, and this is my third year working as part of the Caius telephone campaign! I can't wait to speak to alumni from past and present, and hear all about what everyone is up to. I'm also entering my second year as Station Manager of Cam FM, the student radio station of the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University. I'm always open for a chat about radio, film, classics, and everything in-between!

Shiv (Economics 2023)

I鈥檓 an Economics student and I live in Reading. What I love about Cambridge is that you are exposed to truly the most interesting people you鈥檒l meet in your life and that鈥檚 why I am excited to be part of the telephone campaign! It means I can reach out to alumni and give back to a College I am proud to be part of.
